About DEEP

About

DEEP Liberia

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt

Diversified Educators Empowerment Project (DEEP) was founded in 2014 as a community-based organization to help mitigate significant challenges in the Liberian education sector and school communities. Statistics covering 2006-2020 showed that 50% of the 60,000 teachers did not possess the necessary training and certificates to teach (MOE Annual School Census 2019/20). The engagement of school communities and parent-teacher associations was also at a record low rate.

Core

Programs

At Deep Liberia, we combine creativity, education, and strategy to deliver solutions that inspire, inform, and empower. Explore our core programs addressed and empower teachers and the education systems across Liberia.

COMMUNITY MOBILIZATION

Engaging communities and mobilizing vulnerable groups to become participants instead of spectators in improving their livelihoods, and to play roles as benefactors and beneficiaries in initiatives and advocacies to improve their social protection and developmental needs, including but not limited to education, income generation, health hygiene awareness, TVET, and human rights awareness.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

In 2019, with funding from the Swedish Foreign Affairs department, DEEP provide Free Tailoring-TVET and small business management (SBM) training to fifty vulnerable females. As empowerment, sewing machines were awarded to the graduates who are currently managing their own businesses as entrepreneurs.

EDUCATIONAL EMPOWERMENT

Work in MOE-certified cluster-based in-service Principals and school administrators training in various communities and schools. Target teachers who are teaching without the requisite qualifications and taking the training into their communities and qualifying them as certified elementary and junior high school classroom teachers.
