Distinguished education officers, respected educators, market women, government officials, elders, and the good citizens of Lofa County—good morning.
Today is not just the launch of a training program; it is the planting of a seed for the future of our children and the future of Liberia. I stand before you with humility and deep conviction to say that this Early Childhood Education C-Certificate Teacher Training belongs to all of us. My fervent plea is that every education officer, every teacher, every market woman, every government official, and every citizen of Lofa should see this program as their own and assume a strong sense of ownership.
Let me be clear: this training is not supported by any NGO. It is not driven by politics. It is a patriotic venture—born out of love for country and a desire to improve the quality of education in Liberia. I am not a politician, and at my age, I have no intention whatsoever of venturing into that terrain—so help me God. I am, first and foremost, a sound and highly qualified educator. By God’s grace, I have mentored more than half of the ministers and education officers serving across Liberia today.
Why am I making this sacrifice? Because Early Childhood Education is the foundation of good education, and good education produces good teachers, good doctors, good nurses, good business men and women, and even good politicians. If the foundation is weak, the entire structure will suffer. But if the foundation is strong, the nation will stand firm.
I therefore appeal to the people of Voinjama and all of Lofa County: take this training seriously. See it as an opportunity for growth, empowerment, and transformation. Support the trainees. Encourage them. Help them succeed, because when they succeed, our children succeed—and when our children succeed, Liberia succeeds.
For your information, DEEP remains the only private teacher training institute in Liberia whose certificates are signed by the Teacher Education Minister. When the Ministry of Education conducts recruitment, teachers who hold DEEP certificates are often among the first to gain employment because of the quality of training and the strong partnership we have built since 2014.
Let us therefore work together. Let us own this training. Let us support our trainees. And let us build a stronger educational foundation for Lofa County and for Liberia as a whole.
Thank you, and may God bless our efforts.
